Pharmacological treatment of Bipolar Disorder presents some complex challenges. This Masterclass reviews the link between prescribing decisions made in the acute episode stage (Bipolar depression or Bipolar Mania) and the associated impact these decisions have on the longer term management of the disorder, with an update in the evidence for the long-term treatment of bipolar disorder.
